The Wolf And The Lamb
หมาป่า กับ ลูกแกะ
WOLF, meeting with a Lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea to justify to the Lamb the Wolf’s right to eat him.
เจ้าสุนัขป่า เจอกับลูกแกะที่พลัดหลงออกจากกลุ่มตัวหนึ่ง มันไม่มีสิทธิที่จะรังแกลูกแกะ แต่มันคิดว่ามันต้องมองหาข้ออ้างเพราะจะกินลูกแกะให้ได้
He thus addressed him: “Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me.” “Indeed,” bleated the Lamb in a mournful tone of voice, “I was not then born.” Then said the Wolf, “You feed in my pasture.” “No, good sir,” replied the Lamb, “I have not yet tasted grass.”
มันจึงบอกขึ้นมาว่า “Sirrah , ปีที่แล้ว แกพูดจาดูแคลนฉัน ลูกแกะพูดว่า จริงๆแล้วตอนนั้นหนูยังไม่เกิดเลย แล้วสุนัขป่าก็พูดต่อว่า แกกินหญ้าของฉัน ลูกแกะตอบว่า ไม่ได้กินเลย ยังไม่เคยได้ลิ้มรสชาติต้นหญ้าเลย
Again said the Wolf, “You drink of my well.” “No,” exclaimed the Lamb, “I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother’s milk is both food and drink to me.”
สุนัขป่าพูดต่อ อย่างไรก็ตามแกดื่มน้ำข้างในบ่อของฉัน ลูกแกะตอบว่า ไม่ หนูยังไม่เคยดื่มน้ำ ของกินกับน้ำของหนูคือนมที่มาจากแม่
Upon which the Wolf seized him and ate him up, saying, “Well! I won’t remain supperless, even though you refute every one of my imputations.”
ต่อจากนั้นสุนัขป่าก็รวบลูกแกะกิน และกล่าวว่า ไม่ว่าจะมีเหตุผลอะไรก็ตามมาลบล้างก็ตาม ฉันก็จะกินอาหารเย็นมื้อนี้อยู่ดี
The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny.
จำพวกเผด็จการก็จะหาข้ออ้างให้ตนเองเผด็จการได้อยู่ดี
